#SDC265 My Favourite Stamp, week 2. Kate Crane's Beach Huts.

I am lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of the Uk, on the South coast between Portsmouth and Southampton in a little village called Warsash. The sea and beach provides much inspiration for my 'other artwork'....acrylic paintings incorporating locally sourced driftwood.( see my Facebook page or Etsy Page Moggymeezart.
So, I am really excited to combine my two styles for this weeks challenge at Stampotique using Kate Crane's beach hut stamp.

I stamped the beach huts onto a piece of driftwood, then glued it onto a piece of mount board, then painted the beach huts and the beach scene in acrylic paints. I love the texture and dimension that driftwood gives, not always captured in a photo.

Moon Girl for my #SDC265 Favourite Stamp Stampotique Challenge.

I love brushos! !!!! This is my first time using them, but definitely won't be the last...where have they been all my life?!
This my entry for the Stampotique challenge. ....#SDC265 Favourite Stamp'
I adore this stamp,  as it has a special significance to me, I love it's simplicity,  but think it has real depth to the image.

I firstly stamped the moon and the moon girl using grey archival ink. I then used masking ink to protect the images.
I then had great fun with turquoise,  ultramarine and black brushos, adding salt crystals and water to achieve the lovely space like effect. I then peeled off the masking fluid and painted in some highlights on the moon and used a black fine liner to add detail.
I stencilled through a mask with white acrylic paint and splattered little white flecks to represent stars.
Finally I stamped my 'Shine Bright' sentiment randomly over the image.
I can't wait to use brushos again....really pleased with the results.

Dream Big Mixed Media Piece.

I love this little wooden fold out blank, it was perfect for altering for my 13 year old daughter's birthday.
I used a mixed media technique on the front, which I had watched on Hochanda, from Indigoblu. Using 'Slap It On', I glued on a Tim Holtz Embossed card to either side of the foldout doors (specifically because it had a 13 in the corner.) I then layered various embellishments on top.
I painted the entire piece in black gesso.
Next I used various shades of Pebeo iridescent paints to paint over the embellishments, to create a rainbow effect.
I stamped Trish Latimer's ' Dream Big' stamp and heat embossed it using white embossing powder. I then painted this again using acrylic and Pebeo iridescent paints.
I added a wooden crown embellishment and painted that too.
Finally, I created the background, using brushstrokes, stencilling through sequin waste, printing with a lid and the edge of an old store card, to give an art journal feel.

Entered into CraftStamper Take It Make It Challenge January 2017.

My First top three placing in Stampotique Challenge.

I love this piece that I made for a Circle Challenge for Stampotique, using a corrugated yogurt divider and Warren by Karen Hayselden....I loved it even more when it came in the top three!
